(opens full-size photo)How we handle a project like this
- 1Plan the layout
We measure, mark the shape and talk through brick color, pattern and border.
- 2Dig out and build the base
Old material comes out and we excavate and compact a gravel base sized for Michigan frost.
- 3Lay the pavers
Pavers go down in the chosen pattern, edges are cut clean and the border is locked in with edge restraint.
- 4Sand, compact and clean up
Joints are filled with sand, the surface is compacted and the site is cleaned before the walk-through.
